Postcards From Buster

Last week I would have reccomended "Post Cards From Buster," a spin-off of the popular "Arthur" on PBS,  if you insist on letting your kids watch TV.  (Yes, my kids watch some TV...hopefully not too much. . .)  They aired this episode about Buster's visit in Brooklyn.  He was hosted by a young Arab, and was suprised to learn that he was Christian (Orthodox), not Muslim.   They ate hummus and kibbe, danced the dubke, and even went to church!   Buster learned about Orthodox worship, and why we have altar boys.  The were at St. Mary's in Brooklyn and met the priest, Fr. Micahel.

BUt this morning I hear about this.

(excerpt)"The episode in question, called ''Sugartime!," features a family in Vermont. Buster accompanies the kids when they visit a sugar house, where maple syrup is made, and a dairy farm, where a cow is milked. The lesbian couple, said Hopkins, are in the background.

''The program is not about these moms or gay couples. The family is the backdrop," Hopkins said. ''One mom is in the kitchen, making a grocery list. Another mom says, 'Hi.' Later they have a meal together with some friends. Most of the time, Buster is off with the kids," she said."

The show has been "delayed" for now, but the Homosexual activists are up at arms with this "censorship."

I have a better solution.  Let's just stop letting our kids watch television, and then they will be out of reach of those who would manipulate them.  How hard can that be?  ;-)
